Founded by Adriano and Marcello Ducati back in 1926, the Bologna-base super bike brand fit in nicely with Audi’s other two Italian acquisitions over the past few decades – super car maker Lamborghini in 1998 and automotive design firm Italdesign in 2010. The Ducati purchase, which valued by some to be around $1.1 billion dollars, also put Audi squarely in the position to overtake BMW, currently world’s top luxury auto manufacturer as well as premium motorcycle maker with brands BMW Motorrad and Husqvarna.Rating: 4.5
